Balloon Vase

So I have actually done this tutorial, the finished product is adorable, I have been giving them to my neighbors with clippings from my garden. There are a few things I have learned along the way:

1. Do not use a glass with any etching or print on the sides, the design will show through no matter what.

2. A 12 oz cup requires a 17 inch balloon. I assume an 8 oz cup requires a standard balloon. I had to go and find jumbo balloons because mine kept ripping.

3. Be careful puling the latex to hard, I went through about two balloons per vase. I found using two butter knifes to wedge between the glass and latex helps the shimmy-ing process.

Overall this is a totally cute and simple project that looks professional!

Materials:

Non-toxic School Glue

Colored Paper

Directions:

  • Cut the paper in strips, long enough to cover the side of your nose, and wide enough to cover the area you wish to remove oils from.
  • *CRINKLE* the paper. This is very very important! Crumple it into a ball, and unfold it. To be extra sure, roll the strip horizontally and vertically. This makes the paper very flexible and able to conform to your nose well.
  • Apply the glue to your nose. Make sure to evenly spread with minor pressure so that the glue sticks in the pores.
  • Wait a few seconds for the glue to become tacky.
  • Apply the paper over top of the glue. Press and hold it to the shape of your nose, especially the sides and the tip.
  • Let dry. This typically takes about 5 minutes, but to be extra sure wait at least 10 minutes. You’ll know when the paper becomes firm to the touch.
  • Remove slowly and enjoy all the gross oils that have been trapped in your skin!
